La mobilità a Freigericht in Germania per il progetto Erasmus+ Fostering Global Citizenship

Erasmus+ Fostering Global Citizenship a Freigericht è stata un’ottima opportunità per discutere di temi di attualità e confrontarmi con ragazzi di altre nazioni per scoprire le loro visioni.
Il primo tema affrontato nel corso della settimana è stato un tema di carattere sociale particolarmente attuale, relativo ai ruoli di genere. Abbiamo osservato come, indipendentemente dalla provenienza, avessimo tutti le stesse idee sul fatto che, sin da bambini, siamo influenzati sulla differenza di genere in ogni tipo di attività e comportamento. Si è dibattuto in particolare di come la formazione dell’identità di genere derivi da stereotipi che si affermano sin dalle prime pratiche educative, evidenziando una precoce differenziazione dei gusti per genere già nei bambini. Le fiabe, i cartoni animati, i racconti e i giocattoli da sempre sono stati diversi in base al sesso del bambino. Abbiamo concentrato l’attenzione sui giocattoli nel Toy Museum ad Hanau dove erano evidenti le differenze tra i giocattoli per i bambini e quelli per bambine fin dai tempi più lontani secondo stereotipi convenzionali. Queste differenze, tuttavia, nei tempi più recenti si sono attenuate, tant’è che oggi alcuni giochi sono usati sia da bambini che da bambine.
I giorni successivi sono stati l’occasione per tornare a discutere tutti insieme a scuola, affrontando argomenti diversi, quali democrazia, parità di genere, immigrazione e integrazione.
Particolarmente interessante è stata la visita di Paulskirche a Francoforte, ex chiesa luterana famosa per essere stata la sede del Parlamento di Francoforte, che ci ha consentito di conoscere e approfondire la storia della democrazia tedesca e di esaminare e considerare quelle che devono essere le basi di una buona democrazia, valorizzando gli impegni che ciascuno di noi deve assumere per diventare un buon cittadino europeo.
Nei due giorni seguenti ci siamo divisi in gruppi e ad ogni gruppo era assegnato uno di questi temi: il compito era quello di formulare una proposta di legge innovativa per risolvere le diverse problematiche attuali. Dopo aver finito di discutere le ipotetiche nuove leggi, ci siamo seduti in cerchio e divisi in delegazioni nazionali per approvare le proposte elaborate. L’argomento del mio gruppo era quello dell’immigrazione. Nel dibattito sono emerse idee molto diverse, ma siamo riusciti ad arrivare ad una proposta comune che prevede la costruzione di strutture di accoglienza ben attrezzate, poste soprattutto vicino alle zone di confine, e il potenziamento dell’analisi del fenomeno con particolare attenzione ai numeri per poter distribuire gli immigrati e rifugiati equamente tra i vari paesi consentendo una migliore integrazione in ciascuno dei paesi.
Per concludere, direi che questa esperienza è stata per me entusiasmante e indimenticabile. Mi ha permesso, infatti, di arricchire il mio bagaglio personale e formativo, facendomi conoscere tante realtà diverse che ho sentito vicine a me e di aprire la mia mente a nuove culture e nuove situazioni, allargando tutti i miei orizzonti.
Il diario delle giornate
Day 1 (17/09/23)
We arrived in Wächtersbach in the evening by train, where I met my host, Kjell, and his family. Then they accompanied me to their home in Langenselbold, where I ate a traditional German dish, Bratwürstchen, and I also made friends with their dog, Giulie.
Day 2 (18/09/23)
Me and Kjell went to school by bus. There, all of us international students were divided into groups to talk about different topics regarding gender roles.
We talked about the influence that movies and toys have on children, about gender stereotypes and how they’re formed since childhood.
At around 3 p.m. I went back home, and I went out with Kjell, Letizia, her host, Levin, Marco and his host, Devin, to visit Langenselbold.
Day 3(19/09/23)
We all went to the train station where we took off for Hanau, where we visited the Toys Museum.
In the Museum, we divided into the same groups from the day before to discuss gender roles and stereotypes, this time for what regards toys, of course. We talked about how much of an influence toys can have on people, on their future and gender stereotypes. We also noticed how toys changed over the years. Then we had some free time that we used to go to an Italian restaurant, where we had some pizza. After lunch, we did some activities regarding immigration and visited the Dutch-Wallonian church. Finally, we were left with some free time in Hanau which we used for a bit of shopping.
Day 4(20/09/23)
On day 4 we visited Frankfurt, starting with the Paulskirche, or Saint Paul church, where we learnt about German democracy history in the 19th century and discussed what needed to be called a European citizen.
Afterwards, we had free time that we used to visit some places in Frankfurt, have lunch and buy some souvenirs.
Day 5 (21/09/23)
We stayed at school and divided into groups to discuss different problems in Europe such as immigration, democracy and gender equality and draft new laws to solve them. My group’s topic was border security. During the discussion of the law, I noticed that almost everyone had a different opinion, so we had to make a compromise.
Later on, we reunited in national delegations to vote on the new laws, but the debates were pretty calm and not that intense.
In the evening me and Kjell went to a buffet restaurant in Hanau with Letizia, Levin, Marco and Devin.
Day 6 (22/09/23)
On the last day, we finished discussing the new laws. In particular, my group’s law was the most discussed as every nation had a different opinion on the subject. After we finished debating, we had the award ceremony for both students and teachers, we had lunch in the canteen and I and the rest of the Italian group said goodbye to everyone at school. In the afternoon I played football with Kjell, Devin and Marco at Langenselbold’s football field. Then in the evening, we met up with the other Italians and their hosts at Marius’ house, where we chatted and relaxed for a while.
Day 7 (23/09/23)
We Italians gathered at Gelnhausen train station with our hosts and their families, where we had to say farewell.
